Pocky Brazilian Pudding

Overview
I first had to look up Brazilian Pudding. The image on the box looks a lot like giant flan made in a Bundt cake pan. My guess was that the flavor would be similar to purin, the Japanese version of US flan. Sure enough, what Glico calls Brazilian Pudding is actually Pudim de Leite, a milk-based sweet custard with a sweet sauce on top. I suppose they changed the name for the ease of katakana.
The Product Examined
The Pocky smells like white chocolate but tastes more like Pocky Milk. With the exception of the burnt caramel, this tastes more like what I had originally thought Pocky Milk would taste like - very sweet. But the burnt caramel makes all the difference.
Another thing to note is that flan is a soft, wobbly dessert and Pocky is hard and crunchy. I generally don’t comment about the texture of this snack but for this specific flavor, it’s a little off-putting. I’m a huge fan of creme brulee, flan, purin and one of the things I like is the creaminess. However, it’s a very minor complaint and I would definitely buy this Pocky again.

Definitely havent seen these locally. I should see if the market can get them :) Yumz! burnt caramel
@lanie-emon: I don’t think they had this last year so it might be temporary or it might become part of the rotation. I might have missed it on the shelves though.
@Ryan A: I definitely recommend this. I bet they’d sell well in the US too because it’s a familiar flavor.
Reading your Pocky reviews makes me sad since we only have the 3 basic flavors here .-.
@Shin: Once I go home, the Pocky reviews will have to stop or at least, be severely reduced. :( I’m not looking forward to it but maybe I’ll experiment in making my own.
mmm, flan pocky.
It’s really very good, better than I even hoped for.
I’m still holding out for banana pocky though

Definitely something different than the usual, I reckon.
