Pocky Milk

Overview
When I picked this up, I figured it would be a sweet milk flavor because Japan seems to love condensed milk a lot more than in the US. Milk flavored desserts can be found in many areas of the grocery, including milk bread (which just tastes like bread) and milk jelly (gelatin). One of the most popular uses is on strawberries to make a dessert similar to strawberries and (whipped) cream, although Japanese love whipped cream on their desserts as well. While I can’t say I particularly enjoy milk jelly, I do like having this sweet milk stuff on my fruit.
The Product Examined
The product tastes more like a vanilla ice cream than anything inherently milk. It reminds me of a good quality cake frosting with the level of sweetness found in cheap lard-based cake frostings. For me, the sweetness is almost to the point of tasting artificial. Overall, I can’t say this is the worst Pocky I’ve eaten, but it certainly isn’t the best. (It goes well with coffee though…maybe it could double as the stir-stick?)

I think most of Latin America also loves that condensed milk… too sweet for me.
Love the pocky posts ^^ good quality cake frosting lol
@double: It doesn’t taste much like white chocolate, although it might be similar to a white chocolate sauce (like the stuff for fruit dip?). I made it through the entire pack but I wouldn’t stock up and gorge. x.x
@Ryan A: Thanks! When I started writing them, it was mostly for my benefit because I have a memory like a goldfish but I’m glad you’re enjoying them.
Despite your unfavorable review, I would still be incredibly interested in this. I love anything milk-flavored, even if it’s not really milk-flavored and more like vanilla flavored.
You give 3 stars even though you sound fairly negative on the product @_@
@Nagato: I didn’t think of it as entirely unfavorable…just not blown away by it.
@IcyStorm: Not the best, not the worst puts it right at 3 stars.
I actually love this flavour! (Or maybe I’m just incredibly childish and love the riddles they give on the back of the packets :P)

I think I’ll get sick of the taste after a couple of sticks. Does it taste anything like white chocolate too?
Anyway, I think using it as a stir-stick is quite an innovative idea. No more worrying about getting milk or sugar!
