Baskin Robbins: August Flavors
Aug 12 2008 • Snacks
There are 2 new flavors, which is somewhat surprising as it is quite hot in Japan and still summer vacation for the kids. I’d think that if anything, they’d push even more flavors during this month.
Flavor of the Month

Fruit Shower Sorbet is described as being a mix of yellow passion fruit, orange apricot, red strawberry, pomegranate, black cassius, and apple. When 3 colors of sherbet and 6 fruits are melted together, it’s like a fruit shower in your mouth.

Baseball Park Each time you eat this, your feeling is excitement, as if at a baseball park! The fun snack texture of popcorn, pretzels, and peanuts is set into caramel popcorn ice cream deliciously! (NOTE: I have no idea what’s actually in this ice cream but from appearance alone, it’s different from Baseball Nut, which can be bought in the US.) |
Blueberry Panna Cotta The perfect harmony of faint sweet and sour blueberry ice cream with blueberry pulp. |

Chocolate-holic Two types of delicious, fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth chooclate ice cream, with chocolate chunks and dense chocolate ganache cake. If you eat it once, you will not be able to deny the deliciousness of this flavor. |
Cream Soda Everyone’s favorite cream soda is now an ice cream! The blue and white colored summer-like fresh soda sorbet and creamy vanilla ice cream are, in some respects, perfectly matched. Moreover, in the soda sorbet is satisfying ramune flavor. |

FRUIT SHOWER! First I thought what?, but reading the flavor mixure makes it sound so yummy ^^
These posts make my hungry! They all look delicious. The flavor of the month especially ^_^
@Hynavian & RyanA: I like it too…for me, it’s probably the ice cream I’d most want to try this month. The name first made me laugh though…it’s a party in my mouth. :P
@Catherine: The food posts are my favorite. Any kinds of food, really, not just Japanese foods. I should probably expand the other food sections more.
lord, caitlin, did you try all of those yourself??? were the descriptions yours?? if so, i’m jealous.
i want the cream soda because it looks pretty and the mango tango because i love mango ice cream… but yead, the fruit shower sorbet is too yummy looking.
Fruit Shower Sorbet!!! If I had that flavour right now, I won’t have to feel so ‘guilty’ for not having fruits for so long XD
@biankita: Nope, just translated the descriptions as best as I could. I wish I had the time to go down to Baskin Robbins and try some but I don’t (and I don’t feel like working that off at the gym :P). I did have the cream soda one and it’s not terribly delicious, IMHO.
@issa-sa: Don’t be motivated by guilt! Just go! I’m sure you’re a lot closer to one than I am, right? ^-^
The Fruit Shower Sorbet looks fantastic! I’m also intrigued by the Cream Soda and the other sorbets. Ask a silly question, but is the ice cream there as rich as in the US? I know many Japanese sweets aren’t as fatty or sugary as their Western counterparts- does that go for ice cream too? Just had Cold Stone the other day and about keeled over from the milk fat, blech.
@Rachael: I would say that they are pretty much the same. The only difference I can see is that Baskin Robbins here doesn’t do candy bar type stuff but stick more to fruit flavors or chocolate. But the chocolate is just as rich, IMHO.
Multi colored frozen confectionary! In other news the Baskin Robbins nearest to me has closed shop.

Fruit Shower Sorbet!
I’m feeling extremely happy for some reason just by looking at it; love the bright colors (orange, red and yellow). (:
