Japanese School Lunch: Week 18

Oct 29 2008 • Japanese School Lunch

Please note that the American menu provided is from my middle school in the US. It is meant to serve as a comparison.

I love hiyashiichuuka and chicken stuffed with cheese, so quite possibly, September 30th is the best lunch I’ve had this year. Even including the stuff I make at home on the weekends.

Wow, October 3rd’s lunch seems so… healthy!

You should serve apples every day as well :D

The food looks more colorful and healthy this round. (:

What shaaall we do with you? :)

Definitely interested in this hiyashiichuuka.

It all looks so tasty @_@!

@issa-sa: Healthy, yes, and also not so delicious. T-T

@Ryan A: It’s really quite hilarious to be lectured by 5 year olds who still have problems eating with chopsticks and sharing toys. And they’re so serious about it too.

Hiyashiichuuka is really simple. I think it’s cold boiled ramen noodles in a watered down soy/vinegar/sugar mix with a bunch of stuff put on top. Obviously fresh or refrigerated ramen noodles are better but you could probably use dry too.
